Which TDEE calculator should I start with?
Start with the main calculator. Open a variant when you want the page written for a goal, a person, a work pattern, or a sport. Every variant uses the same BMR equations.
Do the variant pages use a different formula?
No. They run Mifflin-St Jeor, or Katch-McArdle if you enter body fat, then an activity multiplier. Some pages also multiply by a factor you can see and turn off by choosing the option that uses ×1.00. The methodology page lists each factor.
Are these medical calculators?
No. They are educational estimates. Read the disclaimer before you change how you eat, and talk to a clinician if you are pregnant, ill, or under 18.
Where is the formula explained?
The methodology page writes out Mifflin-St Jeor, Katch-McArdle, the activity multipliers, and the extra factors on each variant page.
